Hair transplantation technique

Hair transplantation techniques – FUT VS FUE & DHI

Hair transplantation was considered one of the best solutions for problems of hair loss and baldness, for men and even women. This topic has become one of the most social and medical discussed topics, and even on social media. Studies continue in the development of hair transplantation science and we daily see a new invention or an important discovery that will advance development in this area. Hair transplantation techniques play a big role in the doctor’s skill in using them

There is a hair transplant technique through strip excision (FUT):

Which is an old technique relatively and has been dispensed with because of the limited follicles that can be picked and planted, in addition to the survival of a clear effect of the operation in the donor area of the hair, so that sometimes difficult to cover if the hair is not in the required density.

Optimal picking technique for follicles (FUE):

It is one of the most prominent techniques in the field of hair transplantation as it is differentiated by the possibility of planting as many follicles as possible on a large area of baldness. Using a micro-golden device, up to 6000 follicles can be picked to cover the baldness completely, then open micro-channels in the bald areas where the channels are opened with a sharp tool and then plant the follicles in places of baldness or targeted area.

Ultra FUE technique:

It is the same as the normal picking process but has evolved over time and has proven its effectiveness and results. In this technique, the follicles are picked up by a micro-golden device but the only difference is to replace the sharp opening tool with a pen containing a gemstone. The pen is a pen is installed inside it a particular type of gemstone. This technique proved its worth by treating the follicle opening area faster and not leaving any scars after the operation and the speed of treatment for scars after the operation. Then transplant the follicles.

DHI technique or Choi Pen:

The newest international technology in hair transplantation and intensification, a surgical tool resembling a pen ends with a hollow needle its diameter is 0.7 mm, implants the follicles unilaterally in the area to be transplanted after the process of manual follicles picking. Choi pens are used for hair transplantation and hair intensification. This technique has proven successful compared to other traditional manual techniques. Choi pens are also the main technique in chin and mustache transplantation and eyebrow transplantation for women to get high intensity first and ensure the safety of the transplanted area secondly. The Choi Pens technique is the only technique used in hair intensification because of the ability of Choi Pens to grow new follicles next to the original hair without causing any damage or injury.

Perkutan technique:

For sure many of those who work in this area or interested in has leaked to their hear the term “Perkutan” What does this term and is it a new technology that will advance this science forward?

It is a technique based on the opening of the hair channels in the area of baldness, and the transplantation of the follicles after processing by a needle developed cylindrical shape and thus is distinguished from the rest of the ways that the incision of the hair channels by a small knife. So, it is not a device as interpreted by some (Berkutan device), but a tool developed by doctors from other tools to open the holes, and requires more effort compared to the rest of the techniques of hair transplant and more skill by the specialist because of the possibility of increasing the number of holes.

How Perkutan technique works:

In this technique we can transplant from 60 to 70 follicles per square centimeter, depending on two main factors:

  • The density of the donor area.
  • Baldness area

What are the advantages of the Perkutan technique in hair transplantation?

  • Making holes in a circular way and not straight. As a result no large holes and no incisions.
  • Using the Perkutan technique does not occur bleeding after the operation or blood clotting.
  • It does not take a long time to heal.
  • The process does not leave red scars’ traces.
  • By this technique is controlled determining the direction of hair exit and the degree of growth.
  • By this technique, more than 60-70 follicles can be grown per square centimeter.
  • The doctor is able to transfer more cells in this technique.
  • Perkutan technique gives the patient a more natural look to hair than the other transplantation techniques
